LCC Bacolod Joins Regional Gathering on Justice and Sustainability
BACOLOD - La Consolacion College Bacolod (LCCB) joined delegate institutions from across the Negros Island Region during the JEEPGYM Caravan 2026 and Dapat Isa Lang Movement held at the Santuario de La Salle, University of St. La Salle–Bacolod, on August 27, 2026. Organized by the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), the gathering brought together school administrators, social action directors, social science educators, and student leaders to strengthen initiatives centered on justice, sustainability, and human dignity. The morning session introduced the JEEPGYM Framework, which is grounded in Catholic social teaching and serves as a roadmap for Catholic schools in addressing key social and community concerns.
JEEPGYM Framework Highlights Seven Key Advocacies
The JEEPGYM Framework focuses on seven core advocacies: Justice and Peace, Ecological Integrity, Engaged Citizenship, Poverty Alleviation, Gender Equality, Youth Empowerment, and Media Literacy. The initiative seeks to help member-schools nationwide strengthen their understanding of these principles while providing practical tools for implementing programs within their respective communities. It also aims to establish an evaluation system that can monitor the impact of initiatives at the school, diocesan, and regional levels. Through discussions and sector-specific activities, participating institutions were encouraged to translate the framework into concrete programs that promote social responsibility and meaningful community engagement.
Dapat Isa Lang Movement Encourages Civic Participation
The gathering also featured the Dapat Isa Lang Movement, a nationwide grassroots campaign supported by CEAP regional networks that advocates for the passage of an Anti-Political Dynasty Law through a People's Initiative. The presentation discussed proposed measures including a One Post Rule, a fourth-degree ban covering certain relatives simultaneously holding elective positions, and restrictions on direct succession, replacement, or position-switching among relatives. Delegates participated in an open forum covering signature collection, voter education, and the role of schools as civic formation hubs. Afternoon breakout sessions then allowed administrators, youth and student leaders, and social science educators to explore ways of operationalizing the JEEPGYM Framework and Dapat Isa Lang Movement within their respective sectors.
