Rice Assistance Reaches Families in Baclayon

BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) continues to bring food assistance closer to communities as the Bugas Ayuda Program reached 1,387 beneficiary families in Baclayon. The third tranche of the program was distributed on September 11, 2026, at the Camp Bahug Gym, with each qualified family receiving one 10-kilogram bag of rice to help meet their household food needs. The distribution was facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, barangay officials, and community volunteers.

Strengthening Household Food Security

Supported by national and provincial funds, the Bugas Ayuda Program provides direct rice assistance to qualified beneficiaries in communities across Bohol. The assistance can help families manage everyday food expenses while providing additional support during periods when household budgets are stretched. The Baclayon distribution forms part of the province-wide rollout of the program, demonstrating how coordinated efforts among provincial, municipal, and barangay partners can help deliver essential assistance directly to communities. By bringing the program closer to beneficiaries, the province continues to strengthen its efforts toward improved household food security.

Bringing Responsive Government Support Closer to Communities

Beyond the rice assistance itself, the continued implementation of Bugas Ayuda reflects the provincial government’s focus on inclusive and responsive public service. Local coordination with social welfare offices, barangay officials, and volunteers helps ensure that assistance reaches qualified families in an organized and accessible manner. Anchored on the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap under the leadership of Gov. Aris Aumentado, the initiative supports efforts to build a more inclusive and responsive Bohol. As the province continues its development programs within the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark, initiatives such as Bugas Ayuda provide practical support to communities while strengthening social protection and food security.
