Bringing High School Education Closer to Island Students
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol, led by Governor Aris Aumentado, officially turned over and blessed the new two-classroom facility at Modesto G. Autida High School on August 21, 2026. Located in Isla Pinamgo, Bien Unido, the project addresses the long-standing need of the island community for a dedicated high school facility. The ceremony was attended by Second District Representative Van-van Aumentado, Bien Unido Mayor Jan-jan Garcia, representatives from DepEd-Bohol and the Provincial Engineering Office, and other stakeholders.
Supporting Equal Opportunities Across Bohol
Governor Aumentado emphasized that the new school building represents the fulfillment of a long-awaited aspiration among residents of the island community. He stressed that students should have access to quality education regardless of whether they live on Bohol’s mainland or in its island communities. The project is expected to provide students with a more suitable learning environment while helping families avoid the challenges associated with traveling elsewhere to access secondary education.
Investing in Education for Long-Term Development
The initiative forms part of the provincial government's broader effort to narrow gaps in educational access and support inclusive development throughout Bohol. Beyond physical infrastructure, the provincial government highlighted education as an essential investment in the future of young Boholanos and the province's continued progress. The project also supports the Strategic Governance Roadmap of the Provincial Government of Bohol and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals associated with the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark, reinforcing the connection between education, community development, and sustainable growth.
