Turning Graduation Into a Career Starting Point
BOHOL - The first job search can feel unfamiliar, especially for students entering the workforce for the first time. The seminar introduced participants to practical skills such as resume preparation and effective interview techniques, helping them understand how to present their education, abilities, and experiences to potential employers. Learning these basics before graduation can give young job seekers greater confidence as they begin applying for positions.
Knowing Your Rights Can Make a Difference
Finding a job is only part of becoming work-ready. Understanding workers’ rights and responsibilities can help new employees make informed decisions once they enter the workplace. The seminar also discussed government programs for migrant workers and highlighted ways students can protect themselves from illegal recruitment and human trafficking. This combination of career preparation and safety awareness gives graduates a stronger foundation for making responsible employment choices.
Building a Workforce Ready for New Opportunities
The Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar was facilitated by the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO–PESO), bringing career guidance directly to students from schools across the province. As Bohol continues to develop its economy, preparing young people with practical workplace knowledge can help connect local talent with meaningful opportunities. For the 1,056 students who participated, the seminar represents more than preparation for a first job—it is a step toward building confidence, making informed career decisions, and shaping their own future in Bohol and beyond.
