Connecting Students With Future Career Opportunities
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO), supported the Work Immersion Orientation and Career Expo held on September 2, 2026, at Felix M. Bompat High School in Panglao. The activity gave 88 Grade 12 students an opportunity to gain valuable information as they prepare for their next steps after senior high school, whether through higher education, skills training, entrepreneurship, or employment.
Providing Practical Career Guidance and Employment Insights
BEPO-PESO representative Angelie Generale served as one of the guest speakers, sharing career guidance and insights into employment with the participating students. The discussions covered career opportunities, workplace expectations, employment preparation, and the essential skills and competencies needed to navigate an evolving labor market. By exposing students to practical information before they enter higher education or the workforce, the activity helps them better understand the expectations and opportunities associated with different career paths.
Building a Skilled and Empowered Young Workforce
Through its participation, BEPO-PESO helped strengthen the connection between education and employment, encouraging young Boholanos to make informed career decisions and continuously develop their skills. The initiative supports the PGBh’s Strategic Governance Roadmap 2028 by promoting youth employability, human capital development, and inclusive opportunities that can lead to sustainable livelihoods. These efforts contribute to building a more capable and empowered generation of young people who can participate meaningfully in Bohol’s continued development as the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark.
