Strengthening Workforce Resilience Through Local Governance
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO), participated in the Philippine Councilors League (PCL)–Bohol Chapter Press Conference held on September 3, 2026, at JJ’s Seafoods in Tagbilaran City. The gathering brought together local legislators, government representatives, media practitioners, and other stakeholders to discuss responsive local governance and strategies for protecting the welfare and opportunities of Boholanos amid emerging global challenges.
Highlighting Employment and Human Capital Development
Maria Vilma Yorong, PGDH of BEPO-PESO, Provincial PESO Manager, and CTEC, served as one of the panelists during the event. Under the theme “Anchoring Local Governance on Global Resilience, Protecting Filipinos Across Borders,” she shared insights on employment, workforce development, and human capital resilience. Yorong emphasized the important role of employment programs and workforce development in helping Bohol respond to economic disruptions while enabling workers to adapt to changing labor-market demands.
Building a Future-Ready Boholano Workforce
The engagement reinforced the importance of developing a workforce that is skilled, adaptable, and resilient in the face of changing economic conditions. By strengthening employment opportunities, skills development, and human capital programs, Bohol can better prepare its people for emerging opportunities both locally and beyond the province. The initiative supports the PGBh’s Strategic Governance Roadmap 2028, advancing inclusive growth, sustainable livelihoods, and community empowerment while contributing to the continued development of Bohol as the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark.
