DAVAO — Coro Davao de Oro brought pride to the province after securing 3rd Runner-Up at the Grand Finals of the Himig Lingkod Bayani 2026 Government Choral Competition. The event was held on September 17, 2026, at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.
A Proud Moment for Davao de Oro
The choir received a ₱150,000 cash prize along with a trophy for their performance. They also earned the Best Cluster Entry award for Mindanao, adding ₱30,000 to their winnings. The recognition highlighted the group's vocal excellence and stage presence.
Competing against entries from various regions across the country, Coro Davao de Oro delivered a performance that captivated both judges and audiences. Their harmonies reflected not only musical mastery but also the dedication and passion of Filipino public servants.

The choir's success was made possible through the strong support of Governor Raul "RM" Mabanglo, Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo, and Congressman Jhong Ceniza. Several department heads also attended the competition to cheer on the group.

Other Winners Shine on the National Stage
Dasmariñas City Teachers' Chorale emerged as Grand Champion, taking home ₱300,000 and a trophy. Coro de Rentas Internas claimed First Runner-Up with ₱250,000, while DepEd Bohol Chorale secured Second Runner-Up with ₱200,000.
Special awards were also presented. Coro de Rentas Internas won Best Cluster Entry for NCR and Best Conductor. Dasmariñas City Teachers' Chorale earned Best Cluster Entry for Luzon, Best Interpretation of the Competition Song, and Best Arrangement. DepEd Bohol Chorale took Best Cluster Entry for Visayas.
