PAVIA, Iloilo — GT Mall Pavia marked its 8th anniversary not just with a party, but with a heartfelt gift to the community. The “Celebrate GreaT!” festivities raised funds through a vibrant 3KM Color Run, the proceeds of which were turned over to 100 children from three neighboring barangays, turning a corporate milestone into a celebration of shared joy.
A Fun Run with a Heart
The anniversary celebration kicked off on July 18, 2026 at GT Park with a 3KM Color Run that drew families, fitness enthusiasts, and community members. For a registration fee of ₱300, participants dashed through colorful powder stations, turning the morning into a moving rainbow. Every peso raised was dedicated to providing school supplies, gift packs, and meals for children from Barangays Ungka I, Ungka II, and Aganan.
The run set a generous tone for the entire anniversary weekend. It wasn’t just about covering the distance but about knowing that each stride helped brighten a child’s day. The high turnout reflected the strong community spirit that has grown around the mall since it opened in 2018.
A Day of Pure Delight
The following day, the GT Event Center buzzed with excitement as the 100 young beneficiaries gathered for the grand turnover ceremony. The afternoon was packed with interactive games, captivating storytelling by the Iloilo Bloggers Society, and a special serenade by Allan Jose Tejam, whose voice filled the hall with warmth. Laughter echoed as magicians from the Iloilo Circle of Magic and Tito RingoGwapo amazed the crowd with spellbinding illusions.
The energy peaked when Jollibee GT Town’s beloved mascot bounded onto the stage, bringing the ultimate party vibes and leading the children in a joyful dance. Each child received a gift pack, but the memories of the afternoon—the laughter, the wonder, and the feeling of being celebrated—were the true treasures. The event turned a simple donation into a rich, experiential gift.
Community Leaders Show Support
Vice Mayor Hon. Edcel “Bibo” G. Gerochi and Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Daniel S. Fajardo II graced the event, underscoring the local government’s support for private-sector initiatives that benefit the community. Their presence highlighted the strong partnership between the mall and the municipality, united in the goal of uplifting Pavia’s children.
The collaboration extended to local media partners and cultural organizations, including the Hua Siong College of Iloilo, whose students performed a spectacular Lion and Dragon Dance. This mix of civic, cultural, and commercial support showcased a community working together to celebrate the mall’s growth while ensuring that growth is shared with those who need it most.
A Legacy of Community Partnership
Since opening its doors in July 2018, GT Mall Pavia has positioned itself as more than a retail destination. With 80 percent of its tenants being homegrown Ilonggo businesses, the mall has nurtured local entrepreneurship while serving as a community hub. The 8th anniversary celebrations, which also included a Farmers Market and the opening of new stores, reinforce this identity.
The “Celebrate GreaT!” theme perfectly captured the essence of the milestone—a celebration of eight years of growth and a promise of more meaningful years to come. By putting children at the center of the festivities, GT Mall Pavia demonstrated that true greatness is measured by the smiles it creates and the lives it touches.
