TACLOBAN CITY — Reaffirming its dedication to agricultural quality and scientific standard service, the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office VIII (DA-RFO VIII) Regional Soils Laboratory (RSL) has officially received a Certificate of Recognition from the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA).
Meeting Rigorous National Standards
Awarded on August 24, 2026, in Quezon City, the Special Recognition (No. FPARL-2026-08-19) was signed by FPA Executive Director III Dir. Glenn OC. Estrada and FPA Laboratory Recognition Committee Chair Dr. Jerolet C. Sahagun. The certification verifies that the facility fully complies with all technical, analytical, operational, and documentary mandates under FPA Memorandum Circular No. 05, Series of 2017.
Located along Magsaysay Boulevard in Tacloban City, the RSL demonstrated complete alignment with international standards, such as ISO/IEC 17025 and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Authorized Testing Parameters
Under Scope No. FPARL-SC2026-08-19, the DA-RSL VIII is officially recognized to perform critical analytical testing across four primary parameters:
Total Nitrogen: Verified through the Kjeldahl Method.
Total Phosphorus ($P_2O_5$): Evaluated via the Vanadomolybdate Method.
Total Potassium ($K_2O$): Measured through Flame Atomic Emission Spectroscopy.
pH Level: Determined using the Potentiometric Method.
