CAVITE — The cool mountain air of Alfonso has traveled to the heart of Metro Manila. As the Manila Coffee Festival 2026 opens its doors today, July 17, the Alfonso Tourism Office invites everyone to Booth R17 at Megatrade Halls 1–3, SM Megamall, for a taste of highland life without leaving the city.
A Taste of Alfonso at Megamall
The booth captures the quiet charm of this upland town. Visitors are greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, poured by members of the Alfonso Cavite Coffee Growers Agriculture Cooperative. Each cup tells the story of local farmers who cultivate Liberica, Robusta, and Arabica beans on the slopes of Cavite’s highlands.
Alongside the coffee, Sonya’s Garden has brought its signature pastries and delicacies, creating an irresistible pairing of sweets and brews. The setup feels less like a trade show booth and more like a weekend café tucked into the hills of Alfonso. It is a deliberate invitation to slow down, sip, and savor.
Highland Coffee Straight from the Farm
Alfonso has long been a quiet powerhouse in the local coffee scene, with its cool climate and rich volcanic soil producing distinctive beans. The cooperative representing the town’s growers has brought its best harvests to the festival, offering farm-to-cup authenticity that urban coffee chains cannot replicate. Attendees can purchase beans directly, taking home a piece of the highlands.
The festival provides a rare platform for these farmers to connect with a broader market. For Alfonso Turismo, it is a chance to show that the municipality is more than a Tagaytay neighbor. It is an origin point for quality coffee that deserves its own spotlight.
Beyond the Brew: A Destination Beckons
Alfonso Turismo is using the festival to introduce Metro Manila to the town’s wider appeal. Brochures at the booth highlight rolling hills, crisp mountain air, and a growing reputation as a premier wedding and staycation destination. Venues like Sonya’s Garden and Hill Creek Gardens draw couples seeking intimate celebrations amid lush greenery.
The town’s average temperature of 20 to 27 degrees Celsius makes it a year‑round escape from the lowland heat. Culinary gems like Marcia Adams and Lime and Basil add a gastronomic layer to any visit. For those seeking nature, trails lead to hidden waterfalls like Saluysoy and Putok, offering a raw counterpoint to manicured resorts.
Plan Your Alfonso Getaway
The Manila Coffee Festival runs until July 19, with doors open from noon to nine on Friday and from ten in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. Booth R17 is the starting point for anyone curious about what Alfonso offers beyond its famous neighbor. The tourism team is on hand to answer questions and help design personalized itineraries that highlight the municipality’s quiet, unspoiled character.
As the festival floor buzzes with over 150 exhibitors, Alfonso’s booth stands as a calm, inviting corner. It proves that a great destination can be discovered one cup of coffee at a time.
