ILOILO CITY — The Calle Real Street Night Market officially reopened on August 28, 2026, at Iloilo Sunburst Park, marking its third year as one of the city's most anticipated events. The three-night celebration forms part of Iloilo City's 89th Charter Day, transforming the historic corridor into a lively hub of food, art, and community spirit.

A Grand Reopening with Pride

Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Jay Treñas III, delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Raisa Treñas, reflecting on the market's journey. He noted that two years ago, the city launched its first-ever Calle Real Night Market, and now the tradition continues as part of the Charter Day celebration. The event also recognizes Iloilo City's distinction as the first UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in the Philippines.

The opening ceremony drew city officials, partners, and community leaders. Councilors Miguel Treñas and Mandrie Malabor attended, along with Iloilo City MICE Center Director Lea Lara. Representatives from the Iloilo Mobile Food Community and various stakeholders also showed their support, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the event.

A Feast of Ilonggo Flavors

Ninety-four kiosks now line Calle Real and Guanco Street, offering an extraordinary range of culinary delights. The lineup includes beloved local favorites such as puto bumbong, mango sago, takoyaki, shawarma, sisig, and native lechon. Food carts from the Iloilo Mobile Food Community add even more variety to the bustling streets.

Smoky BBQ stalls fill the air with irresistible aromas, while refreshing fruit shakes and artisanal coffee provide perfect complements. The market curates a selection that goes beyond typical street fare, celebrating the depth of Ilonggo gastronomy. Visitors can wander from one stall to another, discovering new flavors at every turn.

Beyond Food: A Celebration of Community

The night market offers more than just a culinary journey. Lifestyle merchants showcase local souvenirs, handcrafted items, accessories, and spa services, highlighting homegrown creativity. Visitors can shop for unique finds while enjoying live cultural performances and the festive atmosphere.

Entertainment is woven throughout the event. Six stage shows, cultural dances, and twelve buskers provide continuous performances. A new aerial act by the Bereber Group adds spectacle, while a karaoke corner and fiesta-themed photo booth invite active participation. The event is designed as a complete night-out experience where shopping, dining, and entertainment blend seamlessly.

Building on a Strong Legacy

Previous editions of the night market have generated over ₱11.5 million in sales and drawn approximately 97,000 visitors across seven runs. This year, organizers are targeting 18,000 visitors for the three-day event. The market has become a significant economic driver for local vendors and a beloved community tradition.

The theme, "Fiesta sa Calle Real," celebrates heritage, community, Ilonggo pride, and local flavors. Organizers maintain strict food safety and sanitation measures, with all vendors completing training and securing health cards. Inspection teams monitor the event to ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone.

An Invitation to Experience Iloilo's Magic

The Fiesta sa Calle Real Night Market is a celebration of everything that makes Iloilo special. Families can enjoy quality time together, couples can share sweet treats, and friends can create lasting memories. The historic streets become a stage for shared joy and discovery.

Gather your loved ones and head to Calle Real for three unforgettable nights. Come hungry, bring your curiosity, and let the festive atmosphere sweep you away. This is Iloilo at its most alive.
