TRECE MARTIRES CITY, CAVITE - celebrated the graduation of twenty micro, small, and medium enterprises from the 2026 OTOP Philippines Cavite program on September 3, 2026, at the Cavite Government Center. The event, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite and the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO), marked a significant milestone for local entrepreneurs who successfully completed the program.

A Program That Empowers Local Entrepreneurs

The OTOP Philippines Program is a government initiative designed to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) develop unique products that reflect the cultural heritage and identity of their localities. Through the OTOP Next Gen Program, participants receive training in product development, packaging, design, and marketing to enhance their competitiveness in local and international markets. The program is a key component of the government's efforts to strengthen the MSME sector, which serves as a vital driver of economic growth and job creation in the Philippines [citation:8].

The graduation ceremony at the Cavite Government Center in Trece Martires City, a key administrative hub that hosts the majority of provincial government offices [citation:9], marked the culmination of the entrepreneurs' journey through the program. The event was attended by DTI IV-A Assistant Regional Director Revelyn A. Cortez, Cavite Provincial Administrator Engr. Gilbert V. Gandia, and DTI Cavite Provincial Director Lilibeth R. Chavez.

Program Highlights and Entrepreneur Journeys

The graduation ceremony showcased the progress of the 20 entrepreneurs, with ten assisted by DTI Cavite and ten by OPCDO. A visual merchandising seminar facilitated by designer Mr. Ronald Rommel Viloria helped participants learn how to improve their product market appeal through better display and presentation techniques.

Graduates also shared their business journeys, discussing how the OTOP program supported their growth from the start of the program. The event featured a design showcase, the awarding of prototype certificates, and a product photoshoot to capture the entrepreneurs' final OTOP designs, helping them prepare for market entry and expanded consumer reach.
