DASMARIÑAS CITY, CAVITE — The skyline of Cavite is rising, and with it, the dreams of thousands of Filipino families. Today, October 1, 2026, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) officially commenced National Shelter Month by celebrating a massive infrastructure milestone under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s flagship Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
A Powerhouse Collaboration
Barely seven months after its initial groundbreaking last February, a formal topping-off ceremony was held on Thursday for Towers C and D of the 4PH JAB Residences nestled in Barangay Paliparan, Dasmariñas City. The event signals that the structural works for these two major edifices are officially complete, moving the project swiftly into its final stages of construction. The milestone event was led by DHSUD Secretary and Pag-IBIG Fund Board Chairman Jose Ramon P. Aliling, alongside DHSUD Senior Undersecretary Eduardo Robles Jr. They were joined by Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene C. Acosta and Megawide Chairman, President, and CEO Edgar Saavedra, alongside key local government unit officials. This high-level attendance underscores the government's aggressive push to merge public funding with top-tier private-sector engineering to deliver high-quality, dignified housing to everyday workers.
Modern Vertical Communities for Filipino Workers
JAB Residences is rewriting the standard for affordable housing by shifting the paradigm toward modern, vertical condominium-type living. The entire development is a massive 17-tower project composed of 5-story residential buildings. Once fully completed, it will generate at least 4,000 condominium-type housing units specifically designed for working-class Filipinos and their loved ones. Beyond the structural walls, the master-planned project aims to incorporate community open spaces, parks, and playgrounds, ensuring that residents step into a vibrant environment rather than just a housing block.
Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan.
The quick construction turnaround of JAB Residences perfectly encapsulates the theme of National Shelter Month 2026: "Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan." (Home. Community. Future.). By virtue of Proclamation No. 662, Series of 1995, October is designated annually to raise awareness around affordable housing challenges and celebrate systemic solutions. As Secretary Aliling pointed out during the ceremony, the 4PH program is not simply about pouring concrete; it is about building safe, decent spaces where families can cultivate sustainable livelihoods, foster community spirit, and anchor a secure tomorrow. With Towers C and D structurally complete, thousands of Caviteños are now one step closer to unlocking the keys to their very own homes. This milestone follows the recent groundbreaking of similar 4PH projects in the province, including Avesta Residences in Imus and the Dasmariñas 4PH sites, reflecting the government's sustained commitment to addressing the national housing backlog through innovative partnerships with developers like Megawide.
