TRECE MARTIRES CITY, CAVITE - hosted a three-day school-based child protection campaign from August 3 to 5, 2026, organized by the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) to equip Grade 10 students with essential knowledge on school safety, internet safety, anti-bullying, mental health, and child abuse prevention. The initiative, which involved local police officers and child protection focal persons as resource speakers, reached students across Imus National High School, Trece Martires City National High School, and Carmona National High School.
What the Campaign Covered
The campaign addressed five key areas critical to the well-being of Filipino adolescents. Students learned about maintaining a safe and kind school environment, protecting personal data and recognizing online risks, preventing and reporting bullying, managing emotional and psychological concerns, and understanding their rights while learning how to say no to abuse. The curriculum aligns with the recommendations of educational experts who emphasize that strengthening guidance programs and implementing early diagnostic assessments are critical for supporting adolescent learners . Research also shows that students who feel safe and cared for in their learning environments are better positioned to succeed academically and socially.
Resource Speakers and School Participation
The campaign was led by a team of resource speakers from various agencies, including PMSG Angelie Cruza from the Imus City Police Station, PMSG Aileen Peal Gonzalez from the Cavite CPPO, and PMSG Ma. Cristina Pere from the Trece Martires City Police Station. Ms. Jessie Rose Cruto, PCPC Focal Person, and Ms. Danica Shaira Pontimar, PCAT-VAWC Focal Person, also contributed their expertise. The participating schools are all public institutions in Cavite: Imus National High School, Trece Martires City National High School, and Carmona National High School. This initiative reflects the provincial government's proactive approach to child protection, ensuring that students receive the information and support they need to navigate the challenges of adolescence in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
