BACOOR CITY, CAVITE — The City of Bacoor has cemented its status as a rising leader in sustainable urban development, bringing home two major international accolades from the prestigious World Smart City Expo 2026 held on September 10, 2026. The city was honored with the Award for Best Partnership and the Contribution Award, recognizing three consecutive years of dedication, progress, and innovative community building.
A Global Stage for Innovation
The World Smart City Expo 2026 brought together an elite circle of global city leaders, technology pioneers, and funding experts. The summit serves as a premier international platform for sharing breakthrough solutions aimed at creating smarter, more resilient, and highly livable urban communities.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla led the Bacoor delegation to personally accept the awards. The city was invited to the global summit through its strategic partner, RMN, which was represented at the event by David Lee. Beyond receiving the twin awards, the Bacoor delegation actively participated in the K-Smart City Business Partnership Day, where local officials interfaced directly with leading South Korean tech firms. These firms showcased cutting-edge solutions ranging from AI-powered safety systems and pedestrian data analytics platforms to privacy-focused smart innovations.
Financing Future Infrastructure
Looking ahead, Bacoor is already translating its international recognition into actionable plans. The delegation held vital exploratory discussions with the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to secure financing opportunities for upgrading the city's public services and infrastructure. According to city officials, these newly forged partnerships and technological insights will pave the way for concrete local improvements. By integrating modern technologies—specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI)—the local government aims to streamline public service delivery, boost city-wide safety, and ultimately elevate the overall quality of life for every Bacooreño. This achievement follows the city's ongoing efforts to explore hydrogen and distributed energy technologies in partnership with Ulsan Technopark and the Korea Testing & Research Institute.
