The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite celebrated World Chocolate Day by highlighting local cacao micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), serving free local treats, and featuring a live traditional tablea-making demonstration. The event was held on July 7, 2026, at the DTI Cavite Provincial Office in Trece Martires City.

On July 7, 2026, DTI Cavite invited its clients and staff from various government agencies to join the celebration by serving free hot tablea de cacao chocolate, chocolates, and champorado . Featured during the celebration were the products of Tablea Batirol and Auspere Nature Farm, showcasing locally made chocolate products and promoting Cavite's thriving cacao industry .
Ms. Mary Jane Mojica, Owner and Operations Manager of Tablea Batirol, facilitated a live demonstration on the traditional process of making tablea de cacao . DTI Cavite personnel, together with staff from various government agencies, actively participated in the demonstration and learned about the craftsmanship and cultural significance of locally produced tablea.
About the Featured Producers
Tablea Batirol produces tablea made from dried local cacao beans roasted for several hours before being ground into a rich chocolate-y paste, then mixed with sugar and molded into tablets . The company is listed on DTI's e-Sigaw platform, which promotes local MSME products .
Auspere Nature Farm in Silang, Cavite, is a DA-accredited learning site that practices the full cacao value chain—from production to post-harvest and processing . The farm grows cacao varieties BF25 and BF18 Trinitario . Beyond tablea, Auspere produces chocolate bars, premium dark bonbons, tablea cookies, brownies, cacao butter, cacao wine, and even batirol sets . The farm also offers agritourism activities, including farm tours and a "Cliff Cabin Farm Stay" for visitors.
DTI Cavite continues its commitment to supporting local MSMEs in the cacao industry. Through the celebration, participants were encouraged to appreciate and support locally made chocolate products while recognizing the hard work and craftsmanship of Cavite's cacao producers .
