ILOILO — Learners in the town of Dumangas are set to benefit from improved educational facilities with the inauguration of five new classrooms on August 14, 2026. Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. led the turnover of the new buildings, marking a significant investment in local public education.
A New Chapter for Learners
The new facilities were split between two elementary schools. Cansilayan Elementary School received a three-classroom building worth P5.9 million. This new structure will now house Grades IV to VI pupils who previously held classes in dilapidated and makeshift rooms.
Tamboilan Elementary School, on the other hand, received a two-classroom facility valued at P4.3 million. This building is designated for Grades II and III learners. Both projects aim to provide safer and more comfortable spaces conducive to learning.
Equipped for the Future
A key feature of the new classrooms is the installation of solar panels. This addition ensures that school operations remain uninterrupted during power outages. It reflects a forward-thinking approach to educational infrastructure, combining comfort with resilience.
