IMUS CITY, CAVITE - is launching a free mass rabies vaccination drive for pet dogs and cats from September 8 to 10, 2026, with the Office of the City Veterinarian deploying teams across multiple barangays to protect the health of furry companions and promote responsible pet ownership. The initiative, which runs in designated stations with specific schedules for each barangay, underscores the city government's priority on safeguarding community health through preventive veterinary services.
Vaccination Schedule and Locations
The vaccination schedule spans three days across Anabu barangays. On September 8, vaccinations will be held at Anabu 1-G Barangay Hall Covered Court and Anabu 2-C's Pallas Athena Executive Village (both 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN), followed by Anabu 2-C Barangay Hall and Sitio Pulo in the afternoon. September 9 covers Anabu 2-A at the Barangay Hall and Citihomes Clubhouse in the morning, and Anabu 2-B at the Barangay Hall, Elissian, and Regatta Covered Court in the afternoon. On September 10, the drive continues at Anabu 2-B's Sherwood and Juliard Covered Courts in the morning, and Anabu 2-D at the Barangay Hall Covered Court and PRV Clubhouse in the afternoon.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the City Government of Imus to promote responsible pet ownership and protect the community from rabies, a fatal but preventable viral disease transmitted through the saliva of infected animals. Rabies is a significant public health concern in the Philippines, and mass vaccination drives like this are essential for achieving the national goal of a rabies-free Philippines by 2027.
Ongoing Pet Registration and Community Engagement
In addition to the vaccination drive, the city's ongoing Pet Registration is available through the Pawnec Registration Portal, allowing residents to officially register their pets online. This complements the city's broader animal welfare efforts, including the Bacoor Office of Veterinary Services' recent free anti-rabies drive which vaccinated 370 pets in Barangay Mambog 3 and Greentown Villas 1.
The Imus City Veterinary Office encourages all pet owners to take advantage of these services to ensure their animals are protected against rabies and properly registered. Pet owners are also encouraged to bring their pets to the designated vaccination stations on the specified dates. Pets must be at least three months old and healthy at the time of vaccination. Owners are advised to bring their pets on a leash or in a carrier to ensure safety during the event.
