The City Government of Imus has officially opened the nominations for the Natatanging Imuseño Gawad Parangal 2026, a prestigious annual recognition program that honors residents who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributions to the community.
The Gawad Parangal is a time-honored tradition in Imus, commemorating the establishment of the Municipality of Imus as an independent entity from Cavite El Viejo (now Kawit) on October 7, 1795 . As part of this annual celebration, the local government confers awards to outstanding citizens who have brought pride and honor to the city.
Award Categories and Nomination Process
The Gawad Parangal features several award categories designed to recognize excellence across different fields :
General Licerio Topacio Award – The highest award given to Imuseños who have achieved something extraordinary for the people of Imus .
General Juan Castañeda Award – Recognizes outstanding Imuseños in their chosen field of endeavor, including Arts, Sciences, Medicine, History, and Entrepreneurship .
General Pantaleon Garcia Award – Awarded to an outstanding public servant, nominated by their peers .
General Cayetano P. Topacio Award – Extended to outstanding students .
Colonel Jose S. Tagle Award – The young achiever's award given to Imuseños aged 39 years and below who have achieved something extraordinary .
General Flaviano A. Yengco Award – Given to investors who have been partners of the municipality in business, including Outstanding Taxpayers' Award, Investor's Award, and Posthumous Award .
Interested individuals are required to complete an online pre-registration and submit their documents in person at the New Imus City Government Center between August 10 and August 13, 2026. Active voter registration is one of the key eligibility requirements.
