KAWIT, CAVITE — Kawit Kalayaan Hospital has significantly expanded its healthcare services with the inauguration of a new Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) Center and an upgraded Primary Care Facility, marking a major milestone in strengthening medical services for residents of Kawit and nearby communities. The expanded facility, located along Toclong-San Sebastian Road, was officially turned over on March 16, 2026, in a ceremony attended by Cavite First District Representative Jolo Revilla, Kawit Mayor Armie Aguinaldo, and officials from the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital.
New Facilities Expand Access to Essential Medical Services
The newly established BUCAS Center provides essential outpatient services, including consultations, basic diagnostics, and preventive care. It is also set to serve as a PhilHealth YAKAP clinic, offering accessible and patient-centered healthcare services to the community. The BUCAS program, an initiative of the Department of Health, aims to decongest hospitals by providing immediate and accessible care for patients who require outpatient services, while also bringing healthcare services closer to residents. Alongside the BUCAS Center, the Kawit Primary Care Facility was blessed and formally inaugurated, further expanding the town's healthcare infrastructure and strengthening primary health services for the local population.
Local officials emphasized that the new facility will help decongest hospitals by providing immediate and accessible care for patients who require outpatient services. Congressman Jolo Revilla highlighted the importance of expanding medical services closer to communities, while Mayor Armie Aguinaldo reaffirmed his commitment to providing "Alagang Armie Aguinaldo," a brand of governance rooted in compassion and service.
Legislative Efforts Seek Further Upgrade to 100-Bed District Hospital
Active legislative efforts are underway to further upgrade Kawit Kalayaan Hospital into a 100-bed Level II district hospital. Senate Bill No. 1629, filed by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., and House Bill No. 6569, filed by Representative Ramon Jolo Revilla III, both seek to upgrade the hospital and increase its bed capacity from its current smaller capacity to one hundred beds. The measures aim to address the growing population and increasing need for accessible health services in Cavite's First District, which comprises Cavite City and the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario, with a combined population of 368,468 inhabitants.
The upgrade would place the hospital under the technical supervision of the Department of Health and require the augmentation of professional medical personnel commensurate with the increase in bed capacity. These initiatives reflect the collaborative effort between local and national leaders to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure more responsive and accessible medical services for Caviteños.
