Imus City residents can now access free medical consultations, laboratory tests, and medicines through the PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan) and GAMOT (Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment) programs, part of the government's Universal Health Care initiative under Republic Act 11223.

What the YAKAP and GAMOT Programs Cover

Imus residents enrolled in the YAKAP program can access a comprehensive range of healthcare services at no cost. The program covers free consultations with accredited physicians, 13 routine laboratory tests including Complete Blood Count (CBC), urinalysis, fasting blood sugar, and cholesterol tests, and 6 cancer screening tests such as Breast Ultrasound, Mammogram, Low-Dose Chest CT Scan, Colonoscopy, Alpha-Fetoprotein, and Liver Ultrasound.

For medicines, members can claim up to PHP20,000 worth of maintenance and essential drugs annually through the GAMOT program . The coverage includes 21 essential medicines available directly at YAKAP clinics and 54 types of medicines at accredited GAMOT pharmacies. These medications cover common conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, infections, and pain management.

How to Register and Avail of the Services

Imus residents can register for the YAKAP program through three convenient channels . The quickest method is via the eGovPH App, available for free download on Google Play Store and App Store. After registering and verifying your account, simply log in using your PhilHealth number, and select your preferred accredited YAKAP clinic. Alternatively, registration is available through the PhilHealth Membership Portal or by visiting the nearest PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) for walk-in enrollment .

Once registered, visit your chosen clinic for a free consultation. The doctor will issue laboratory requests and prescriptions for any necessary medicines . To claim medicines, simply present your prescription at any PhilHealth GAMOT-accredited pharmacy. The benefit is not cash—it covers the cost of specific medicines prescribed by an accredited YAKAP doctor, and the annual allowance resets every calendar year.
