ILOILO — The Province of Iloilo emerged as the most awarded provincial government in Region VI after garnering 16 major recognitions for excellent fiscal performance in Calendar Year 2025. The awards were conferred by the Bureau of Local Government Finance Regional Office VI and the Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors during a ceremony on September 23, 2026.
Dominance in Revenue Generation
The provincial government secured the highest awards in 12 categories, reflecting its strong performance in generating revenues from local sources and improving collection efficiency. Iloilo topped the rankings for Highest Locally Sourced Revenue overall and in real property tax, economic enterprise, and business and other local taxes.
It also claimed the Top 1 spot for Highest Collection Efficiency in Locally Sourced Revenues overall and in real property tax, fees and charges, and economic enterprise. These recognitions demonstrate the province's ability to maximize revenue streams while maintaining efficient collection systems across all levels of governance.
Sustained Growth Recognized
Beyond collection efficiency, Iloilo Province earned Top 1 honors for Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues overall and in real property tax, fees and charges, and economic enterprise. These awards underscore the province's sustained upward trajectory in fiscal performance over the past year.
The province also earned major awards in four other categories. It placed Top 2 for Timely Submission of Treasury Reports and Best Performing Provincial Approver of Reports. It secured Top 3 for Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Fees and Charges and Highest Collection Efficiency in Business Tax and Other Taxes.
A Collective Effort Across All Levels
These awards represent the collective efforts of the Office of the Provincial Treasurer and its counterparts in 42 municipalities. The Office of the Provincial Assessor, the Office of the Hospital Management Officer, and other revenue-generating offices also contributed to this achievement.
