CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga — Central Luzon has officially cemented its status as an international logistics powerhouse following the grand opening of the new United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) International Air Hub at Clark International Airport on October 15, 2026. The state-of-the-art facility represents a massive foreign direct investment aimed at expanding corporate supply chain resilience and elevating freight movement speed across key international market corridors.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined global company executives to mark the inauguration of the sprawling US$80-million air cargo complex. Covering an expansive 30,000 square meters, the newly constructed operational hub is 15 times larger than the previous facility utilized by the logistics giant in Clark, providing an immediate structural upgrade for transshipment capacity.

The massive expansion dramatically improves parcel management capacity, equipping the hub to process up to 15,000 packages every hour while managing an expected daily volume of 46,000 shipments. Furthermore, the ongoing operations will support approximately 170 weekly flight segments arriving at and departing from Pampanga, establishing direct connections to more than 1,100 international trade lanes.

This enhanced aerial network enables significantly faster delivery transit times across major commercial territories in North America, Europe, India, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Certain high-priority routes serving Eastern China and Southeast Asia will experience delivery acceleration by up to two days, with select priority cargo arriving in as little as one business day.

Beyond bolstering global trade flow, the air hub generates direct economic benefits for surrounding communities through the creation of nearly 600 specialized jobs. The facility incorporates advanced automated sorting systems, climate-controlled storage zones, and specialized RFID tracking technology designed to secure sensitive cargo from manufacturing, electronics, and healthcare industries.
