BACOLOD CITY — Over 12,000 housing units from 25 participating developers are set to converge at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City for the Visayas Housing Fair 2026 on October 27–28. The two-day event aims to bring affordable homeownership opportunities closer to families across the region.

Building on a Record-Breaking National Expo

The Visayas fair follows the highly successful 2nd National Housing Expo, which concluded on October 20 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. That national event drew more than 30,000 home seekers and generated over P2.2 billion in projected housing loans, signaling immense public demand for accessible financing.

The national expo featured more than 80 developers offering around 50,000 units under the Expanded 4PH Program, with promotional rates as low as three percent for socialized housing. The Visayas edition translates that same momentum into a regional platform, connecting local buyers directly with developers and government financing programs.

Thousands of Units Across Diverse Price Points

The Bacolod fair brings together a wide range of housing options, from socialized housing to mid-range and premium units. Prospective buyers can explore house-and-lot packages, condominium developments, and ready-for-occupancy homes suited to different budgets and family sizes.

Pag-IBIG Fund is offering promotional interest rates during the event. Eligible borrowers can avail of a three percent subsidized rate for socialized housing during the first five years, while loans above P1.8 million up to P4.9 million qualify for a 4.5 percent rate.

Accessible Financing for Every Filipino Family

Loans exceeding P4.9 million up to P10 million carry a 5.75 percent rate for the first three years. These promotional rates are available only until the end of 2026, giving buyers a clear window to lock in favorable terms and begin building long-term equity.

The fair also offers opportunities for young professionals to enter the property market earlier. Pag-IBIG Iloilo-Mandurriao branch head Gina Lanceta encouraged workers to consider applying for housing loans even before marriage, noting that property values and housing costs continue to appreciate over time.

A Regional Push for Inclusive Homeownership

The event aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to expand access to affordable housing financing based on a member’s capacity. DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling has consistently emphasized that bringing government and the private sector together is essential to making homeownership a reality for more Filipino families.

For Visayas residents, the fair represents a practical opportunity to compare projects, consult with developers, and secure financing guidance under one roof. It reinforces Bacolod’s role as a growing hub for residential investment and community development in Western Visayas.
