ILOILO — West Visayas State University (WVSU) has once again proven its academic excellence, achieving a perfect 100 percent passing rate in the September 2026 Librarian Licensure Examination. All 14 Bachelor of Library and Information Science graduates successfully passed, cementing the university's reputation as the country's top-performing school for librarianship.
A Milestone for Ilonggo Education
The Professional Regulation Commission officially ranked WVSU as the top-performing school nationwide. The university's College of Information and Communications Technology produced the exceptional batch. This achievement reflects the quality of education, faculty dedication, and student perseverance that define the institution.
The 100 percent passing rate is particularly significant for the region. It demonstrates that Iloilo City remains a powerhouse for higher education in the Visayas. The result reinforces the city's standing as an educational hub capable of producing world-class professionals.
A Top 2 Finish Brings Pride
Louise Angelika Penit Pahilanga delivered an outstanding performance, ranking No. 2 nationwide with a remarkable 92.40 percent rating. Pahilanga was also recognized as WVSU's Class of 2026 most outstanding graduate in academics. Her achievement adds a personal dimension to the university's collective success.
The other successful examinees include Abby Gail Alarcon, MG Bañas, Jirah Castaño, Sopie Angelie Espada, and Blanca Genova Fuentes. Juliana Marie Jabagat, Joshua Kyle Lachica, and James Francis Llabore also passed. Completing the list are Tomme Wellart Marcelo, Francis Ken Payunan, April Aireen Saenz, Jeannie Desiree Selim, and Laiza Joy Sendin.
