The newly opened Pampanga Food Security Complex (PFSC) is located in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Lubao, Pampanga. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally inspected the facility on Friday, July 24, 2026, marking its official readiness to serve the agricultural sector. This visit highlights the administration's commitment to strengthening the country's agricultural backbone and ensuring food security for Filipino families.
A Modern Facility Built for Kapampangan Farmers
The PFSC is designed to directly benefit more than 30,000 local farmers and cooperatives across the province. Managed in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and PhilMech, the complex provides several critical advantages. It offers a guaranteed market as the Provincial Government of Pampanga will directly buy palay from small farmers and cooperatives. High-tech machinery will process the bought palay directly at the facility, and advanced storage and milling technologies will significantly lower post-harvest losses. The complex also aims to boost the local economy as farmers can expect higher income and more stabilized livelihoods, while securing a more reliable and sufficient rice supply for the entire province of Pampanga.
Additional Government Aid Distributed During the Visit
During the inspection, the national government also rolled out financial assistance to residents and associations in the region. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed a PHP 17.7 Million Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Grant to 21 local livelihood associations. Additionally, the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Program aid provided immediate relief and financial assistance to individuals in crisis situations. The PFSC's opening and these aid distributions reflect a comprehensive approach to strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting the livelihoods of Kapampangans.
