MAKATI CITY —The Taiwan Tourism Administration is set to bring “Taiwan Day 2026” to One Ayala in Makati City on August 22-23, marking the first major event of its 2026 promotional campaign in the Philippines. The two-day event will take place at Level 2, Concourse, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with free admission for visitors. It will also officially launch the “Taiwan 100 Ways – Film Your Way” short-video contest, encouraging Filipinos to share creative and personal ways of experiencing Taiwan through their own videos.
Interactive Experiences and Exciting Activities
Visitors can explore four themed stations designed to offer an immersive glimpse of Taiwan. Participants can collect stamps using a digital card as they move through the different areas. Those who collect three stamps will qualify for a raffle featuring round-trip between Manila and Taipei tickets provided by EVA Airways, while visitors with four stamps can try the Human Claw Machine for a chance to win Taiwanese-themed prizes. Another attraction is the “Taiwan Connection Station,” a retro-inspired phone booth where guests can connect with family and friends in Taiwan.
Four Creators, Four Ways to Discover Taiwan
Recognizing the growing influence of social media on travel decisions, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has partnered with four Filipino content creators to showcase different sides of the destination. Under “Waves of Flavor,” fashion and lifestyle creator Laureen Uy-Cruz explores Michelin Guide-listed restaurants across Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. “Waves of Culture” follows The Poor Traveler as the travel blog’s duo visits destinations including Tamsui Old Street, Tangweigou Hot Spring Park in Jiaoxi, Yilan County, and the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival. For outdoor adventures, “Waves of Vitality” features vlogger and actor Kimpoy Feliciano as he visits Sun Moon Lake, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, and Guguan Hot Springs. Meanwhile, “Waves of Stopover,” led by former flight attendant Jen Barangan-David, highlights how travelers with lengthy layovers at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport can explore attractions such as Danjiang Bridge, Tamsui Old Street, Dihua Street in Dadaocheng, the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Ximending, and Taipei 101.
Filipino Travelers Continue to Choose Taiwan
Taiwan continues to gain popularity among Filipino travelers, with recent figures from the Taiwan Tourism Administration showing 400,827 Filipino visitors in the first half of 2026. This represents a 28% increase from the 312,821 arrivals recorded during the same period in 2025. The Philippines has also maintained its position as Taiwan’s leading source of visitors within Southeast Asia. Building on this momentum, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is centering its 2026 Philippine campaign on the “Taiwan 100 Ways” theme.
