A City With More Than One Growth Engine
BACOLOD - Bacolod's economy is no longer defined by a single traditional sector. The city recorded 7.70 percent GDP growth in 2024, reaching approximately PHP157.37 billion, while services accounted for 76.60 percent of local output. Health and social work, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and other service industries are contributing to the city's expanding economic base. At the same time, Bacolod's population reached 624,787 in 2024, increasing from 600,783 in 2020 and 561,875 in 2015. A growing population and a wider range of economic activities create continuing demand for homes, workplaces, services, transportation, and commercial spaces.
Connectivity Is Expanding the City's Reach
Tourism adds another layer to Bacolod's economic momentum. The city recorded 873,573 domestic and international visitors in 2025, generating more than PHP6.55 billion in receipts, while MICE attendance reached 279,200. Better connectivity also allows these economic activities to reach beyond traditional city boundaries. Bacolod-Silay Airport connects the area with major domestic markets, while the Bacolod North Road and southern transport corridors strengthen links with surrounding communities. Together, tourism, transportation, and infrastructure can influence where people choose to live, work, establish businesses, and invest.
Growth Creates New Reasons to Look at Property
For the real-estate market, these changes make location increasingly important. Growing employment opportunities, expanding commercial activity, rising visitor numbers, and population growth can influence demand for housing and communities that provide convenient access to schools, workplaces, shopping areas, hospitals, roads, and other everyday destinations. Residential developments therefore become part of the city's larger growth story. Camella has been part of Bacolod's development since 2008, with communities designed around landscaped surroundings, amenities, and access to established and emerging areas. As Bacolod continues carrying its heritage into enterprise, mobility, tourism, and investment, the city's growth is also creating new possibilities for homebuyers and property investors looking toward the years ahead.
