Supporting Bacolod’s Student Scholars
BACOLOD - A total of 417 Bacolodnon scholars received their scholarship allowances at the Bacolod City Government Center, with the distribution amounting to more than PHP3.1 million. Each scholar received PHP7,500 for the 2024–2025 school year, providing students with additional financial support as they continue their education. The assistance reflects the city government's commitment to helping students manage some of the expenses associated with pursuing their studies.
Helping Students Stay in School
Mayor Greg Gasataya emphasized that the scholarship assistance is intended to help students continue their education, meet their school-related expenses, and move closer to their goal of graduation. Financial support can help ease some of the burden faced by students and their families, allowing scholars to focus more on their academic responsibilities. The program also demonstrates the city's continued investment in education as an important part of youth development and community progress.
Encouraging Scholars to Reach Their Dreams
Gasataya encouraged the city's scholars to remain focused on completing their studies and achieving their goals. He stressed that graduating can open opportunities for young people to build better futures for themselves and eventually help their families. Through its scholarship assistance, the Bacolod City Government continues to provide students with support as they work toward becoming graduates and future contributors to their communities.
