Care That Reaches the Farm
BOHOL - Through the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, in partnership with the local governments of Clarin and Danao, municipal agriculture offices, and other partner institutions, farmers received hands-on animal health and breeding assistance. Services included deworming, vitamin supplementation, artificial insemination, and pregnancy diagnosis, giving livestock owners practical support for maintaining healthier and more productive animals. Technical sessions also covered proper animal conditioning and breeding, helping farmers strengthen their knowledge alongside the services provided.
108 Farmers and 272 Animals Served
The outreach activities reached communities in two municipalities. The September 5 activity in Clarin served 18 farmers and 54 animals, while the October 8–9 activities in Danao reached 90 farmers and 218 animals across three barangays. Bringing these services directly into communities makes veterinary assistance more accessible while allowing farmers to learn practices they can apply to their own livestock. For a farmer, timely animal care can make a meaningful difference in protecting an investment that supports the entire household.
Building Better Farms for the Future
The effort goes beyond individual checkups—it supports Bohol’s broader goal of developing a productive and resilient agricultural sector. Healthier livestock can contribute to better farm performance, while improved breeding practices can help farmers build stronger herds over time. By combining veterinary care, breeding assistance, and practical training, Bohol is helping farmers become better equipped to care for their animals and strengthen their livelihoods. It is another step toward a more sustainable, climate-smart agricultural future across the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark.
