Bohol — The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under the dedicated leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, is reinforcing its commitment to high-quality, patient-centered healthcare through the sustained growth of the Bohol Provincial Diagnostic and Ambulatory Care Center (BPDACC). During a flag ceremony at the New Provincial Capitol on July 13, 2026, the administration highlighted the facility’s vital role in ensuring that essential health services remain accessible to every Boholano, particularly those in underserved communities.
A Proven Commitment to Uninterrupted Care
Established in May 2020 following the closure of the Bohol Medical Care Institute (BMCI), the BPDACC was created to ensure that patients—especially those requiring regular hemodialysis—would not face interruptions in their life-saving treatments. Dr. Emma Perpetua Cahatol, the facility's Interim Administrator, reported that BPDACC has since evolved into a comprehensive hub featuring a Radiology and Imaging Service Unit, a Level II Clinical Laboratory, a 12-station Hemodialysis Unit, and a Mobile Diagnostic Van. This mobile unit, in particular, represents a significant leap forward in the province's healthcare strategy, bringing critical diagnostic and radiology services directly to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) across Bohol.
Driving Excellence Through Sustainable Governance
The facility's success is deeply anchored in the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, which prioritizes the expansion of public health services as a key driver of provincial well-being. This commitment is evidenced by its strong financial performance, with the BPDACC generating more than ₱72.8 million in cumulative revenue from 2022 through the first semester of 2026. These funds are reinvested to maintain high standards of operation, evidenced by recent efforts to procure calibration and preventive maintenance services for its medical equipment. By balancing financial sustainability with a mandate for public service, the BPDACC continues to function as a vital component of Bohol’s healthcare system as it strives to fulfill its potential as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
