Connecting Skilled Boholanos With Employers
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol, through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO), partnered with TESDA-Bohol to conduct the World Cafe of Opportunities Job Fair 2026 on August 25 at the Bohol Cultural Center. The event featured 12 local companies and six overseas recruitment agencies, giving applicants opportunities to explore employment that matched their skills, training, and qualifications. By bringing employers and jobseekers together in one venue, the initiative provided skilled Boholanos with a more accessible avenue to pursue career opportunities and improve their livelihoods.
Supporting Skills Training and Employment
Gov. Aris Aumentado reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening technical-vocational education and helping TESDA graduates and alumni turn their training into meaningful employment. Meanwhile, 2nd District Representative Congw. Van-Van Aumentado emphasized the important role of TESDA in equipping Boholanos with practical skills needed in the workforce. She also expressed support for expanding skills training programs and course offerings in partnership with TESDA-Bohol. The early results of the job fair showed its potential to immediately connect trained workers with employers, with five applicants already hired on the spot as of noon, including Aircon Technician Gerald Hipolito Bautista of Danao and Receptionist Rivavera Buendia of Tagbilaran City.
Building a More Inclusive Employment Future
The job fair reflects Bohol’s broader efforts to make skills development and employment opportunities more accessible to its residents. Initiatives that connect trained workers with both local and international employers can help graduates find jobs suited to their qualifications while supporting families and communities through improved livelihood opportunities. The program also supports the Provincial Government’s Strategic Governance Roadmap 2028, which seeks to advance accessible skills development and employment toward a smart, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Bohol. Through continued cooperation between the provincial government, TESDA, employers, and jobseekers, the province is strengthening its workforce while supporting its vision as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
