Supporting Farmers Through Capacity Building
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, through the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), continues to strengthen farmers’ organizations through technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives. As part of these efforts, the PCDO conducted an orientation for the Poblacion Farmers Association on August 23, 2026, in Barangay Poblacion, Sierra Bullones, Bohol. The activity provided members with relevant guidance aimed at strengthening their organization and supporting their agricultural and community development initiatives. Through these activities, farmers are given opportunities to improve their organizational capabilities and become more effective partners in local development.
Providing Guidance for Local Agricultural Organizations
The orientation was led by Community Development Officer Benjamin Villeno and Executive Assistant for Agriculture Gil Bongato, who shared information and practical guidance on organizational development. Discussions also highlighted the important role of farmers’ associations in advancing agricultural initiatives within their communities. By helping members better understand organizational responsibilities, coordination, and community participation, the activity encouraged stronger cooperation among farmers. Such capacity-building efforts can help local associations improve their ability to plan activities, access available support, and respond to the needs of their members.
Building a Stronger and More Resilient Bohol
The initiative forms part of the PGBh’s continuing efforts to empower farmers’ associations and community organizations through sustained technical support and capacity-building programs. Strengthening grassroots organizations can contribute to more coordinated agricultural development while giving communities greater capacity to participate in programs that affect their livelihoods. These efforts are aligned with the Provincial Government’s Strategic Governance Roadmap and its broader development priorities. Through continued support for local organizations, the PGBh advances its vision of a smart, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Bohol—the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark Regenerative Island.
