Foreign visitors reached 587,451 between January and June, outpacing domestic arrivals by over 90,000. The United States led all source markets with 42,343 overnight guests, followed closely by France at 38,065 and the United Kingdom at 24,873. Germany and Australia rounded out the top five with 21,710 and 21,437 visitors respectively.
Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Israel completed the top ten foreign markets. The strong European presence reflects the success of targeted marketing campaigns in key regions. Palawan’s beaches, lagoons, and marine sanctuaries continue to captivate travelers seeking tropical escapes.
The Big Three Dominate
Three destinations accounted for more than 80 percent of all overnight stays. Puerto Princesa City retained its top spot with 403,306 arrivals, benefiting from its role as the province’s primary air and sea gateway. El Nido followed with 345,801 visitors, while Coron ranked third with 149,962.
Together, these three hubs recorded nearly 900,000 arrivals. Their combined performance underscores the importance of continued infrastructure investment to manage visitor volumes sustainably. Emerging destinations, however, are also gaining traction among tourists seeking quieter experiences.
Rising Towns and Scattered Islands
San Vicente registered 64,292 visitors, claiming fourth place as its long‑stretching beach and relaxed atmosphere attract steady numbers. Linapacan, with its crystal‑clear waters, drew 25,386. Taytay, Busuanga, Brooke’s Point, and Narra each welcomed between 14,000 and 16,000 guests, while Balabac in the far south recorded 8,248.
