GENERAL TRIAS, CAVITE — Moving forward with its mission to strengthen disaster preparedness and local healthcare, the City Government of General Trias officially turned over six Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs), two ambulances, and one water truck to various local communities and departments. Led by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), this initiative directly boosts the capacity of local barangays and health facilities to respond efficiently during emergencies, calamities, and medical crises.
Strengthening Grassroots Healthcare
To ensure that medical transport is readily accessible at the grassroots level, the six newly acquired Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) were strategically distributed to key barangays including San Francisco, Buenavista, San Gabriel, Pasong Kawayan I, Bacao II, and Panungyanan. These vehicles will serve as vital lifelines, ensuring that residents in these communities have a reliable way to reach medical facilities safely and quickly. The distribution reflects the city's commitment to decentralizing emergency services, bringing critical resources closer to where they are needed most and reducing response times during medical emergencies.
Upgrading Hospital Capacity and City Utilities
In addition to the barangay units, the city allocated two advanced medical ambulances directly to the City of General Trias Medicare Hospital. This upgrade significantly expands the hospital's capacity to handle critical care transport and emergency transfers. Meanwhile, the fleet expansion also included one heavy-duty water truck, which has been deployed to the City Engineering Department. This vehicle will serve as a multi-purpose utility asset, assisting the city in fire suppression support, water distribution during shortages, and routine maintenance infrastructure projects.
A Unified Push for Efficient Public Service
This fleet distribution highlights the city's continuous efforts to modernize its public services. By equipping local leaders and healthcare workers with the right tools, General Trias ensures that no GenTriseño is left behind, especially in times of disaster. The initiative builds on the city's broader disaster preparedness programs, including the Alagang GenTri Caravan, which brings medical, dental, and government services directly to barangays, and the recent support provided to fisherfolk affected by the southwest monsoon.
