CITY OF IMUS, CAVITE — Halloween at SM Center Imus wasn't just about candy and costumes. It was about creativity, community, and one unforgettable La Muerte. The mall's Spooktacular Halloween Costume Contest, held on October 31, 2026, brought together children aged 4 to 12 for an afternoon of family-friendly fun. And among the superheroes, scary monsters, and fantasy characters, one costume stood above the rest.
A Showstopping Win for Ky Closet
A local costume renter, Ky Closet, secured 1st Place in the Best in Costume category with a participant wearing a detailed La Muerte costume. La Muerte is the iconic character from the animated film The Book of Life, a figure draped in a red gown adorned with candles and marigolds, her face painted in the striking sugar-skull style of Día de los Muertos. It is a costume that demands attention, and at SM Center Imus, it commanded the room.
A Celebration Built for Families
The event welcomed children aged 4 to 12, with parents registering their kids either online through the SM Malls Online App or on-ground at the mall with a minimum receipt purchase from mall tenants. Costume themes spanned superheroes, scary monsters, and fantasy characters, giving every child a chance to shine in their own creative way. The contest began at 2:00 PM, drawing families eager to celebrate the season together in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment.
Part of a Nationwide Spooktacular Tradition
SM Center Imus is a community-oriented mall that serves Imus's growing population, a young, family-focused demographic that values accessible, budget-friendly experiences. Events like this costume contest fit perfectly into that identity, giving families a reason to come together and create memories without the stress of elaborate planning. The Spooktacular Halloween program is part of SM Supermalls' broader October initiative, which closes out its Super Kids month with costume contests, Halloween fairs, and trick-or-treat activities across participating branches. At SM Center Imus, the result was a celebration of imagination, family, and the simple joy of dressing up.
