SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation is transforming hotel stays into immersive culinary journeys with its Gateway to Gastronomy campaign, championing regional culinary heritage in support of the Department of Tourism's Food and Gastronomy Tourism Roadmap 2024–2029 . The campaign positions each SMHCC property as a gateway where guests can explore the culture, history, communities, and traditions that have shaped every Filipino dish.

A Celebration of Regional Flavors Across SMHCC Properties

Each property interprets its culinary heritage through the lens of its destination, inviting guests to discover why these flavors matter . At Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, Azucar de Herencia honors Negros Occidental's hacienda culture with local favorites like Kare Kare de Hacienda and Papisik nga Manok—a traditional chicken dish from the region . Conrad Manila presents Contemporary Heritage, reimagining Filipino classics like Ukoy with Mixed Vegetables—a crispy deep-fried fritter made with glutinous rice batter, unshelled shrimp, and vegetables —paired with Sikwate & Puto Maya, a traditional combination of sticky rice cake and rich hot chocolate . Meanwhile, Park Inn by Radisson Davao puts local ingredients front and center, blending indigenous and Spanish influences to showcase the distinct flavors of Mindanao.

More Than a Meal: Supporting Communities and Preserving Traditions

"Every destination has a story to tell, and food is one of its most powerful storytellers," said SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation Vice President for Quality and Sustainability Leah Magallanes . The campaign strengthens partnerships with local farmers, fisherfolk, artisans, and food producers, helping preserve regional food traditions while creating opportunities for the communities that keep these culinary legacies alive . Through Gateway to Gastronomy, SMHCC positions each of its properties not only as a place to stay, but also a destination where every flavor reflects a heritage, every table celebrates a culture, and every meal tells a story that creates a lasting memory.
