CEBU — Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI), the leading VisMin developer, has taken the reins as presenting sponsor of the Cebu Marathon 2027. The partnership signals a renewed commitment to the race and its role in showcasing Cebu's growth and community spirit.
A New Chapter for a Beloved Race
The 2027 edition was officially launched at the Cube Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu, promising a more organized and runner-focused event. Organizers are prioritizing a seamless experience, with race kits and finisher medals scheduled to arrive as early as November. This early preparation aims to address past logistical issues and rebuild trust among participants.
The race will be managed by DJT Events in partnership with the Cebu City Sports Commission and the Cebu City Government. The Cebu Executive Runners Club remains involved as a consultant. The direct involvement of city leadership underscores the race's importance as a major sports tourism event for Cebu.
The Iconic CCLEX Route Returns
The highlight of the Cebu Marathon 2027 is the return of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) as a core part of the route. Full marathon and half marathon runners will cross this 8.9-kilometer bridge, enjoying breathtaking views of the Mactan Channel. The route is designed to be both challenging and scenic, making it a bucket-list race for many.
The course carries international certification from the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). This certification confirms the route's accuracy, allowing runners to use their 42K finish times to qualify for major global marathons. This status elevates the race's prestige and attracts serious athletes from around the world.
Race Details and Registration
Runners can choose from four categories: 42K, 21K, 10K, and 5K. Online registration opens on August 15, 2026, with the race day set for Sunday, January 10, 2027. The event is scheduled on the weekend preceding the Sinulog Festival, allowing participants to experience Cebu's vibrant culture beyond the race.
All registered runners will receive premium entitlements, including an official race shirt, a Salt+Fin DriFit finisher shirt, a finisher medal, and a post-race meal. Each participant is also automatically entered into a grand raffle for a brand-new Omoda-Jaecoo J5 HEV Electric Vehicle. The race also enforces a strict Zero-Waste Hydration Policy.
