TAGUM CITY — The Tagum City Library and Learning Commons proudly launches Reading Theater Year 4, running every Wednesday from October to November 2026. The program encourages children to make reading a habit by transforming stories into lively stage performances at the Herminigildo Baloyo Hall.

A Celebration of Young Storytellers

Little learners from Child Development Centers across Tagum City will take center stage to bring stories, imagination, and creativity to life. The event features two sessions daily, doubling the fun and giving more children the chance to shine. No books are needed—the children themselves become the story.

The morning session features performers from NCDC, Sunshine II CDC, Golden Plains Phase I, RTU CDC, KM 47 CDC, and Tahderriyah DC in Bincungan. Lower Busaon CDC, San Isidro Busaon CDC, and Pagsabangan CDC complete the morning lineup. These centers have prepared performances that showcase their creativity and hard work.

Afternoon Performances and Themes

The afternoon session welcomes Golden Plains Phase II, Durian CDC, PRK. Rizal 1B CDC, San Rafael CDC, and Munting Paaralan CDC. Tahderriyah DC in Madaum, Nicolas P. Lumantad CDC, and Villa Rosal CDC round out the afternoon roster. Each center brings its unique interpretation of the year's exciting themes.

Five themes guide this year's performances. Flowers and Plants inspire blooming stories and colorful imagination. Animals allow little storytellers to let their wild side shine. Celebration brings stories filled with joy, music, and smiles. Family reminds everyone that every beautiful story begins at home. Tradition and Culture celebrate the stories that make communities who they are.

Why Reading Theater Matters

Reading Theater combines literacy with performance, helping children develop confidence, public speaking skills, and a genuine love for reading. When children act out stories, they engage with narratives on a deeper level. Comprehension improves, vocabulary expands, and creativity flourishes.

The program also fosters teamwork and discipline. Children learn to cooperate, follow cues, and support one another on stage. These skills extend beyond the theater, preparing them for future academic and social challenges. Parents and teachers witness growth that extends far beyond the classroom.

A Community Invitation

Everyone is invited to attend and cheer for the little performers. The venue is the Herminigildo Baloyo Hall at the Historical and Cultural Center in Tagum City. Admission is free, and the atmosphere promises to be warm, joyful, and inspiring.

Audiences are encouraged to bring their smiles, loudest cheers, and love for reading. Watching children perform builds their confidence and reinforces the importance of literacy. Community support transforms a simple school activity into a celebration of learning and togetherness.

Making Reading a Habit

The Tagum City Library and Learning Commons champions the tagline "Make Reading a Habit." By making stories fun and interactive, the program plants seeds of lifelong learning. When reading becomes an adventure, children seek it out willingly and enthusiastically.

As the performances unfold every Wednesday, the city celebrates its youngest learners and their incredible potential. When communities make reading a habit, every story becomes an adventure. See you at the Reading Theater.
