Mabuhay Is Adding More Pieces to Its Residential Landscape
GENERAL SANTOS CITY - Barangay Mabuhay has several concrete signs of residential activity in 2026, making it one of the areas worth keeping on a homebuyer’s radar. City records include a 26,562-square-meter Nueva Vida Two–Mabuhay subdivision with a housing component, while another city record covers the 107,895-square-meter VSM Mabuhay Subdivision. The city is also budgeting nearly PHP5 million for road improvement at Purok 29 and more than PHP5.5 million for a covered court at Mabuhay Elementary School. Together, these projects show a neighborhood where housing, roads, and community facilities are developing alongside one another.
Labangal Has a Mix of Housing and New Community Facilities
Labangal offers a different kind of growth story, with established residential developments sitting alongside new public projects. Robinsons Land’s 2026 corporate disclosure identifies Bloomfields General Santos as a 33-hectare residential development in the barangay, with 755 residential and commercial lots. The city’s procurement records also show a nearly PHP5-million covered-court project at Purok Malok and a separate PHP2.35-million improvement project at Purok Matinabangon. Labangal is also a coastal barangay near Sarangani Bay, while the National Highway connects portions of the area with other parts of the city. Those ingredients give the neighborhood several distinct reasons to watch.
Katangawan Shows Why Growth Can Happen Beyond the City Core
Katangawan is another area that deserves attention when looking at General Santos’ wider residential map. City planning records have identified Katangawan among the city’s emerging barangays, while an approved subdivision development plan for Carmelina Heights covers about 121,781 square meters and is intended for socialized housing. Current 2026 property records also show residential classifications across Katangawan, with the highest listed residential zonal value among its classified streets at PHP3,950 per square meter. These details do not mean the barangay will suddenly become a major commercial district, but they do point to a neighborhood where residential development and land-use activity are already part of the picture.
