PASSI CITY, Iloilo — The dream of world-class athletics has arrived in this inland city. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a ₱78.77-million multi-purpose sports complex, featuring the first rubberized track oval in the province outside Iloilo City.
A Modern Sports Complex for All
The project includes the construction and completion of a 400-meter track and field with asphalt overlay. Workers installed a rubberized playing field, perimeter fence, access roads, and slope protection. The existing grandstand also underwent significant rehabilitation to accommodate larger crowds.
This facility is designed to accommodate both recreational activities and organized sports competitions. It provides a modern and safe venue for people of all ages to engage in sports and physical activities. The rubberized surface offers superior shock absorption, reducing the risk of injuries for athletes.

Ferjenel Biron were instrumental in securing funding.
Passi City Mayor Atty. Stephen A. Palmares welcomed the completion, noting its significance for the community. The facility eliminates the need for student-athletes to travel long distances to train on standard tracks. It brings top-tier sporting facilities directly to the heart of the city.
