ORMOC CITY — In a continuous effort to elevate public safety and response times across Western Leyte, the Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) officially launched the S.A.F.E.-Eastern Visayas Dial 911 initiative during a ceremony and caravan at the Ormoc City Superdome on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Enhancing Emergency Response Capabilities
Anchored on the national Philippine National Police (PNP) Focused Agenda, the decentralized program establishes a toll-free emergency hotline to ensure rapid police assistance for residents across regional communities.
The S.A.F.E. framework represents:
Seen: Proactive police visibility across local neighborhoods.
Appreciated: Community-trusted public safety programs.
Felt: Direct, immediate protection and service.
Extraordinary: Responsive and people-centered law enforcement.
The hotline directly supports the PNP’s core campaign, "Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman," offering free calling access to 911 from landlines and mobile networks nationwide.
Regional And City Leaders Pledge Support
The launch featured the official unveiling of the S.A.F.E. Eastern Visayas Dial 911 logo, the ceremonial hotline activation, and a joint pledge of commitment signed by local government, police, and regional leaders.
