TAGAYTAY CITY, CAVITE — Energy levels surged through the roof as public servants stepped out of their offices and onto the sports court! Yesterday, September 30, 2026, the City Government of Tagaytay successfully ignited the grand opening of its 7th Inter-Governmental Sportsfest, transforming the arena into a vibrant arena of sportsmanship, teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy competition. The annual sporting spectacle serves as a powerful reminder that behind Tagaytay's world-class public service is a deeply united, athletic, and spirited community of government employees.
A Powerful Parade of Frontline Force
The opening ceremony saw an enthusiastic turnout, with diverse departments parading their official colors and rallying behind their athletic delegations. The competitive field features a dynamic lineup of participating offices, including healthcare and welfare heroes from the City Health Office (CHO), Ospital ng Tagaytay (OnT), and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO); safety and emergency responders from TOPS/CDRRMO and the City Security Unit (CSU); economic and administrative pillars representing the main City Hall offices, Land Tax, and the Tagaytay City Market; and tourism and heritage guardians from Tagaytay's world-renowned eco-destinations, including the iconic Picnic Grove and People's Park in the Sky. The sportsfest is spearheaded and meticulously organized by the City Sports Office, ensuring a seamless, high-spirited, and fair tournament for all competing athletes.
An Inspiring Charge from Vice Mayor Agnes Tolentino
Adding immense inspiration to the grand launch, Vice Mayor Agnes Tolentino delivered a powerful special message to the gathered civil servants. In her address, she passionately underscored that while winning trophies is exciting, the true victory lies in cultivating an unshakeable sense of unity and friendship across different departments. She also reminded everyone of the vital importance of maintaining an active, balanced, and healthy lifestyle—ensuring that government employees remain physically energized and mentally sharp to serve the public effectively.
Radiating Color, Grace, and Community Gratitude
The opening celebrations reached a spectacular high point with the highly anticipated presentation of the office muses. Representing the brilliance, charm, and enthusiasm of their respective departments, these muses brought an extra layer of color, glamor, and infectious energy to the sporting court. The organizers extend their deepest gratitude to all the athletes, dedicated coaches, hardworking staff, and passionate organizers whose collective sweat and coordination made the grand opening an absolute triumph. As the tournament brackets officially unfold, the entire City of Tagaytay stands ready to cheer, play hard, and elevate the spirit of public service through sports! This annual sportsfest reflects Tagaytay's commitment to fostering a healthy and united workforce, following the city's recent capacity-building initiatives like the Customer Relations and Digital Marketing Seminar for tourism stakeholders, which similarly aimed to enhance the skills and well-being of local government employees and tourism workers.
