A Modern Hub for Bacolod's Creative Community

BACOLOD - has taken another significant step toward fostering innovation and creativity with the opening of the G-Hive at the Mansilingan Activity Center. Developed by the Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (D-LEDIP), the facility serves as a dedicated space where graphic artists, designers, animators, game developers, fashion designers, and owners of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can collaborate, create, and develop new ideas. To encourage greater participation, the city is initially allowing qualified users to access the facility free of charge while operational guidelines are being finalized. This initiative reflects Bacolod's commitment to supporting the creative sector as an important driver of economic growth and innovation.

State-of-the-Art Facilities for Learning and Innovation

The G-Hive features four specialized spaces designed to meet the diverse needs of creative professionals and entrepreneurs. The Foundry serves as an Innovation, Research, and Development Laboratory where ideas and academic projects can be transformed into market-ready products and commercial intellectual property. The Studio provides professional-grade hardware and software that enable artists, designers, and multimedia creators to produce high-quality digital content, while The Academy offers a modern training venue for seminars, workshops, and digital skills development for both MSMEs and the local workforce. Completing the facility is The Gallery, an exhibition space that showcases artworks, innovative products, and locally made goods from assisted businesses, giving creators additional opportunities to promote their work.

Building Strong Partnerships for Creative Growth

To maximize the impact of the G-Hive, Bacolod City has established partnerships with key government agencies and private organizations that will provide technical assistance, training, and business development support. Collaborating institutions include the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Association of Negros Producers. Local brands such as Get Spotted, Vivo Handmade, and D'Bayong Art are also contributing by sharing expertise in skills development and export production. These partnerships create a supportive ecosystem that helps aspiring creatives enhance their capabilities while preparing them to enter larger domestic and international markets.
