Building Stronger Emergency Response Skills
BOHOL - Building resilient communities and strengthening emergency preparedness remain key priorities of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) under its Strategic Governance Roadmap. As part of these efforts, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (TaRSIER 117) conducted a Basic Life Support–Standard First Aid (BLS-SFA) and Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System training for 32 personnel of the Philippine Mining Service Corporation (PMSC)-Bohol Limestone Plant on August 27–28, 2026, in Garcia Hernandez. The activity provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills that can help them respond effectively to emergencies that may occur during plant operations.
Promoting Safety and Coordinated Emergency Response
The training focused on strengthening participants’ capabilities in first aid, emergency response, and disaster preparedness. By gaining practical knowledge on how to respond during emergencies, personnel can become better prepared to protect themselves, their co-workers, and others who may be affected by an incident. The activity also emphasized the importance of workplace safety, risk awareness, and coordinated response mechanisms in reducing potential impacts and protecting lives during emergencies and disasters.
Supporting a More Resilient Bohol
Workplace preparedness forms an important part of Bohol’s broader efforts to strengthen community resilience and institutional readiness. Training personnel in emergency response can help establish more capable teams that are prepared to act when unexpected situations arise. As the Philippines’ first UNESCO Global Geopark, Bohol continues to promote sustainable development by investing in initiatives that enhance public safety, disaster preparedness, and community resilience while supporting the protection of its people and natural heritage.
