SAN ISIDRO, LEYTE — Retail electricity supplier Shell Energy Philippines, Inc. (SEPH) has officially doubled its contracted solar capacity from the San Isidro Solar Power Project in Leyte to 240 megawatt-peak (MWp) following a second 15-year power supply agreement with Greenlight Renewables Holdings, Inc.
Expanded Offtake Deal Accelerates Clean Energy Grid Delivery
The updated agreement executed with developer San Isidro Solar Power Corp. secures an additional 120 MWp output to serve commercial and industrial clients nationwide:
Full Grid Commercialization: Following Phase 1 energization in October 2025, Phase 2 achieved full commercial operation on July 30, 2026, delivering 240 MWp of solar capacity directly into the Visayas grid.
Strategic Commercial Alliance: SEPH President Bernd Krukenberg noted that the expanded 15-year offtake partnership aligns with meeting national power demand while expanding commercial access to regional clean energy.
Corporate Offtaker Commitment: Greenlight Renewables President and CEO Darlene Arguelles emphasized that cross-sector corporate partnerships remain critical for unlocking utility-scale generation capacity across Eastern Visayas.
