Cebu City — Amid the current issue on flood control and doubts on how resources of the people are utilized by the government, one business firm leader has been recognized for his contribution to the city’s revenue base.
Anthony Gerard O. Leuterio, the founder and president of Filipino Homes, Leuterio Realty & Brokerage, and Rent.ph, was declared as one of the Outstanding Taxpayers for 2026 in Cebu City in the Taxpayer Appreciation Gala in 2026 held on March 27, 2026, at Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu.
Founded as a homegrown real estate network, Filipino Homes has grown nationwide and recently opened its 137th office. The company has expanded by a mixture of digital platforms, broker networks, and property marketing services, which have added to higher activity in the real estate realm.
Leuterio in a statement further pointed out that success in business is a burden that doesn’t just end at profit making by saying that the taxes paid by businesses are used to fund basic services such as roads, schools, hospitals and digital infrastructure. The recognition he received is attributed as a collective success and credited to his team (Filipino Homes), partners, and client in the company to help in its further growth and contribution to the local economy.
The Cebu City government holds the Taxpayer Appreciation Gala every year to acknowledge individuals and businesses that adhere to tax regulations and contribute substantially to the public funds. Responsible entrepreneurship is also encouraged by the event.
Leuterio also called on fellow entrepreneurs to keep on creating sustainable businesses, creating jobs, and fulfilling their tax obligations to help in long term development.
As Cebu City continues to position itself as a major economic hub in the Visayas, recognitions like these highlight the importance of the private sector in helping to fund the services of the government and shaping the city’s future.
