CEBU CITY – For those looking for a new way to make plans and visit Cebu this year, you need not look far since the universe seems to be presenting this offer to you with both hands. With new flights being launched, an array of events lined up, and Cebu Pacific unveiling single-way base fare tickets as low as ₱88, this may seem like a dream come true.
Part of the company’s Araw ng Kagitingan seat sales campaign, this special offer will run until April 9, 2026. This includes travel within the country only, giving you access to Cebu’s beautiful beaches, cultural destinations, and festivals.
However, the real tale behind this is the growth of Cebu into a location that can be reached easily from everywhere. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport has increased its number of international routes with nearly 30 new weekly flights that take the total weekly number of international departures and arrivals above 100. This is evidenced in the reintroduction of the Cebu–Quanzhou route by Xiamen Air. In the domestic market, Air Asia will start flying daily routes between Cebu and Bangkok as of June 16. Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific has announced the launch of 33 domestic flights to various destinations such as El Nido, Iloilo, Bacolod, and Puerto Princesa.
Then there are the events. Cebu kicked off 2026 by hosting the ASEAN Tourism Forum and TRAVEX 2026. Sinulog followed, drawing an estimated three to five million people. Still ahead: the Sinag Liga Asya Junior World Showcase in July and the Asian Carriers Conference in September.
Travelers need not worry as Cebu has plenty of flights, lower costs, and a lot of activities lined up. All of these factors make Cebu a must-visit destination right now. For both a fast-paced visit that covers the urban and beach side of Cebu, or a long-term visit that explores the many islands of Cebu, 2026 looks like an amazing time to come.
