Coconut Products Take Center Stage in Bacolod

BACOLOD - Looking for new ways to bring local products to more customers? The first Coconut Philippines Trade Fair is opening another avenue for coconut farmers and local entrepreneurs to showcase their products, reach potential buyers, and explore new business opportunities. Launched on October 12, the initiative highlights the potential of the coconut industry to support livelihoods and strengthen local enterprise across the Negros Island Region. By bringing coconut-based products and businesses closer to consumers, the trade fair creates opportunities for producers to gain greater market exposure and demonstrate the value of locally made goods.

Expanding Opportunities for Farmers and Small Businesses

The initiative reflects a broader commitment to creating livelihood opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmers, and other local entrepreneurs. Similar efforts have included helping businesses explore online selling through the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow in partnership with Shopee Philippines in March, promoting local products through G-Hive, and streamlining transactions and permit processing through the local government’s BOSS Express Lane. These programs demonstrate how digital commerce, product promotion, and more accessible government services can help small businesses connect with customers and manage their operations more efficiently. Together, such initiatives can give local producers more ways to grow beyond traditional selling channels.

A Bigger Platform for the Coconut Industry

The Coconut Philippines Trade Fair is scheduled for October 18 at the North Block of SM City Bacolod, providing another opportunity for shoppers to discover coconut products and support local enterprises. Events like this can help strengthen connections between producers, retailers, and consumers while encouraging innovation in product development and marketing. For coconut farmers and small businesses, greater visibility can open doors to new customers, partnerships, and potential sales. By promoting locally produced goods and expanding access to markets, the trade fair underscores how supporting homegrown enterprises can contribute to stronger livelihoods and a more dynamic local economy.
