ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Local Housing Office (ICLHO) has released a comprehensive FAQ to guide residents through the PASILONG housing program. The guide answers key questions on how Ilonggos can secure a home through the city's 4PH vertical housing projects.
Available Housing Programs
The city currently offers two main housing pathways for qualified residents. The first is lot-only projects, though availability remains limited. These lots are specifically intended for families affected by government infrastructure projects and those with court-ordered evictions.
The primary opportunity lies in four 4PH condominium projects. These include the Uswag Condominium Complex and Uswag Residential Complex in San Isidro, Jaro. Westville Residences in Hibao-an, Mandurriao, and the Iloilo Residences Rental Housing Project in Sambag, Jaro, are also open for application.
Who Qualifies for 4PH Housing
The Local Housing Board Resolution No. 2024-04 outlines the qualifications for beneficiaries. Applicants must be Filipino citizens and at least three years voting residents of Iloilo City. They must not own any real property anywhere in the Philippines and must not have previously received socialized housing awards.
An active Pag-IBIG membership is required for those applying to socialized condominium units. This is because Pag-IBIG Fund serves as the financing arm for all 4PH projects nationwide. The partnership ensures sustainable funding for affordable housing development.
Pag-IBIG Financing Requirements
To qualify for a Pag-IBIG housing loan, applicants must be first-time home buyers. Monthly income must not exceed ₱34,685.82. Active membership with at least 12 months of updated contributions is mandatory.
Age limits are strictly enforced. Applicants must not exceed 65 years old at the time of application and 70 years old at loan maturity. They must pass background, credit, employment, and business checks. Existing Pag-IBIG loans must be updated with no arrears, and no previous loans should have been foreclosed or surrendered.
Patience During the Application Process
The ICLHO acknowledges that processing takes time. Each application is individually encoded and submitted to Pag-IBIG Fund for pre-qualification assessment. Applicants who pass this stage are then returned to ICLHO for updating and official notification.
The office requests patience from applicants as each case undergoes careful evaluation. This thorough process ensures that only qualified beneficiaries are approved. It protects both the applicants and the integrity of the housing program.
